“Writer” Means Different Things To Different People

Vague terms lead to all kinds of assumptions

For the summer, I’m living in a small town in the northeast to write. Since arriving in June, I’ve met lots of locals and had to answer the question, “What do you do?” at least a dozen times. So far I’ve stuck to saying, “I’m a writer,” for the sake of simplicity.
